Nadim Samman

Born 1983 in Leicester, UK, Nadim Samman grew up in Hong Kong and read Philosophy at University College London before receiving his PhD from the Courtauld Institute of Art. He has curated biennales in Marrakech, Moscow and Antarctica, and festivals in Reykjavik, Dallas and Vienna. In addition to extensive independent projects worldwide, his curatorial appointments include Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (Vienna), KW Institute for Contemporary Art (Berlin) and, currently, Langen Foundation (Neuss). In 2019 he was first prize recipient of the International Award for Art Criticism. He is the author of Poetics of Encryption: Art and the Technocene (Hatje Cantz, 2023), republished in Italian as Criptopoetica (Luiss University Press, Rome) and in Czech as Poetica Kódování (Galerie Rudolfinum/Goethe Institute, Prague) in 2025. Nadim is the Director of Autotelic Foundation, London.
