A deadly mistake, an innocent man, a long-forgotten story of harrowing power: this play reconstructs the murder of Ahmed Bouchikhi, falsely identified as a terrorist, in 1973 in Lillehammer to create a many-layered piece of documentary theatre. The show juxtaposes witness reports, contradictions and memories to examine how a single human life can be crushed by the brutal machinery of history.

In 1973, the peaceful little Norwegian town of Lillehammer became the scene of a fatal mistake. Mossad agents looking for the Palestinian leader of the group "Black September", which was linked to the attack on the Olympic Games in Munich, eliminate a man they think is their target. They mistakenly kill Ahmed Bouchikhi – an innocent Moroccan waiter on his way home with his pregnant wife.

This project examines what came to be known as the Lillehammer Affair through a reconstruction of events from multiple perspectives. At the heart of the story is a tragedy of ancient Greek proportions: an innocent person caught up in forces that are far beyond his control – where geopolitical conflicts, misjudgements and coincidence seal someone's fate.

The production places the audience in the same restaurant Bouchikhi once worked at and surrounds them with witness reports, memories and contradictions, and ultimately asks a timeless question: How can a single human life withstand the mighty machinery of history?
