Amund Ulvestad

Amund Ulvestad (born 1982) is a Norwegian artist, musician and composer based in Berlin/Porto/Morelia. He holds an MA in Music Technology from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Ulvestad has been active as a touring musician for 30+ years and has held a wide range of concerts and performances in Europe, Asia, and the Americas both as a soloist and as part of various ensembles, using cello, voice and electronics as his main instruments. Today, he primarily works with performing arts, sound art and experimental music. 

Ulvestad has created music and sound for over 40 theatre and dance productions, including at the Norwegian National Theatre, the Croatian National Theatre and the Ibsen Theatre, and with many ensembles in the international independent performing arts field. He has also scored music for several feature films. 

Ulvestad has been a frequent guest lecturer in the Norwegian Theatre Academy, HFDK and NTNU, and since 2020 he has been affiliated with Temporal Communities at Freie Universität Berlin as an artist in residence and associate fellow. 

He was awarded the Norwegian Government Grant for Artists in 2017 and 2018.
