Christina Tscharyski was born in Vienna in 1988. Studied theater, film and media studies as well as sociology at the University of Vienna. During this time she worked as an assistant director at the Vienna Burgtheater, among others. Since 2013/14 Christina Tscharyiski has been working as a freelance director, she directs among others at the Theater in der Josefstadt, Burgtheater Vienna, Rabenhoftheater and Landestheater Niederösterreich. Her production "Ja, eh! Beisl, Bier und Bachmannpreis" with texts by Stefanie Sargnagel, which premiered in April 2017 at Vienna's Rabenhoftheater, was nominated for the Austrian Music Theater Prize and the Nestroy Prize, was invited to the Heidelberg Stückemarkt and the Women Playwrights' Festival and won the Audience Prize at the Radikal Jung in Munich. In the 2018/2019 season she will direct for the first time at the Berliner Ensemble. Further productions follow at the Landestheater Niederösterreich (premiere "Quasi Jedermann") and at the Schauspielhaus Graz ("Schlammland Gewalt").
