WORX, the international program for emerging directors at the Berliner Ensemble, bids farewell to the directors of its fourth cohort: Jules Head and Marie Schwesinger.
Both have developed two productions each this season, including three world premieres — "Das Archiv der Träume", "Das Schloss", and "Sturm auf Berlin" — as well as the novel adaptation "Transit". These works will be presented together over three days to mark the conclusion of the program, complemented by a reading of texts by Anna Seghers and a panel discussion with the current WORX artists. As part of the showcase, there will also be an opportunity to exchange ideas with the current directors and get to know the new participants of 2026/27 in person.
JULES HEAD trained at the National Theatre Directors Course in London. Jules works across disciplines—theater, audio, and film — and is interested in physicality, intimacy, and social structures.
MARIE SCHWESINGER studied Performing Arts in Hildesheim and Theater Directing in Frankfurt. She works at the intersection of documentary theater and journalism and has been conducting artistic research on right-wing extremism since 2021.
