Sisters. Brothers. Thick as thieves, light and shadow. You can end most relationships – but not these. In their first production together, Lena Brasch and Sina Martens explore what keeps siblings together and what drives them apart: love and ignorance, loss and loyalty, fratricide and mudslinging. From Cain and Abel to Kim and Kourtney – a show about the one relationship you can't escape.

A piece written by, performed by and about sisters and brothers.

You can end most relationships – but not these. Lena Brasch and Sina Martens explore what keeps siblings together and what drives them apart: love and ignorance, competition and loyalty, fratricide and mudslinging. A show about the one relationship you can't escape.

"If you look up the word brothers on Wikipedia, it says: brothers, male relatives who act as a group or are closely related. It's true, that's what we are, that's what we do. Sometimes we don't act as a group. But we belong together. Thick as thieves. Or light and shadow, or even black and white. The important thing is, I'm Switzerland. When it comes to that. I don't get involved. Pick your fights. Not my circus, not my monkeys. I'm Switzerland."
(Laura Dabelstein)

“My three brothers. They were big and strong and very handsome. They could walk on their hands and invent their own world. They carried me on their shoulders and told me dirty jokes. They loved me and hit me. They loved me and ignored me. They died. One after the other. As if they'd made an agreement. Idiots.”
(Marion Brasch)

“Cain and Abel, Hänsel and Gretel, Kim and Kourtney. Fratricide, mistakes, mudslinging. You can end most relationships, but not these. Your brother stays your brother. Your sister your sister.”
(Anne & Lucien Haug, siblings)
