Éva Zabezsinszkij

Éva Zabezsinszkij born in 1979 in Budapest has studied Literature and Russian Culture at Eötvös Loránd University. Afterwards Zabezsinszkij started her screenwriting studies at University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest, where she obtained her degree in 2012. Since her graduation, she’s been working with the most prominent artists of the Hungarian theatre and film scene: Zabezsinszkij worked on three theatre performances directed by Kornél Mundruczó as a story editor/co-writer, as a story editor and casting director with film director László Nemes for the Oscar-award winner long-feature film Son of Saul (2015) and as casting director and script consultant for Nemes’s second long-feature film, Sunset (2018). She also did the co-screenwriting for the long-feature film Hier (2018) directed by Bálint Kenyeres.

Zabezsinszkij regularly works with Árpád Schilling as co-writer, list of their common works includes: Looser (joint production of Steirischer Herbst Graz, Theatre National of Bordeaux, Trafó House, Kunstenfestivaldesarts Brussels, and Krétakör Foundation), The Day of Fury (joint production of Onassis Cultural Centre Athens and Krétakör Foundation), Eiswind (production of Burgtheater Wien), Erleichterung (production of Landestheater Niederösterreich St. Pölten), Bitch (production of Montegerin Royal Theatre Zetski Dom, Cetinje) and Pansion Eden (production of Zagrebačko kazalište mladih – ZKM, Zagreb).
