Would you like to take a look behind the scenes at the Berliner Ensemble? On sundays, we offer guided tours on, under and behind the stage, as well as through our workshops. These behind-the-scenes tours last approximately 60 minutes. You can book tickets online or via the theatre box office (telephone +49 30 284 08 155, email theaterkasse@berliner-ensemble.de). Price: 8 euros per person, concessions 5 euros.

In addition, you can book private guided tours for groups. These cost a flat rate of 65 euros (for up to 25 people). Please send enquiries to: einblicke@berliner-ensemble.de.

We regularly hold public rehearsals and preview performances of our new productions; please check our monthly programme for dates. Public rehearsals offer an insight into the various stages of the ongoing rehearsal process. A preview is a performance held before the premiere. At this stage, the production is still in rehearsals and not yet complete, so there may be brief interruptions, for example. This allows you to experience the creative process on stage and gain exclusive insights into the development of the production, which may still change between this stage and the premiere.

For many of our performances, we offer pre-performance introductions by our dramaturg or post-performance audience discussions with the actors involved. Please check our monthly programme and our website for dates.

The Berliner Ensemble stages selected performances with English surtitles in the Großes Haus several times a month. You can find the dates here or in our monthly programme; performances with surtitles are marked accordingly. Our box office will be happy to advise you when purchasing tickets on which seats offer the best view of the surtitles (1st and 2nd tiers, as well as stalls from rows 13–18 and seats in the side boxes, where the view may be obstructed).

The Berliner Ensemble canteen is open Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to midnight, and at weekends and on public holidays from 2.00 pm to midnight. If you would like to make a booking, please contact kantine@berliner-ensemble.de.

Students can receive up-to-date information about available student tickets easily and free of charge, straight to their mobile phones: via our BE-Ticket-Ticker, we let students know, no more than once a day, how many student tickets are available for the relevant evening performance(s).
