This feminist double project explores images of present-day femininity, emancipation and female self-assertion. Each in their own way, Birch and Streeruwitz radically dissect the female perspective on the status quo between men and women, looking at the mechanisms and clichés of patriarchal structures in a highly entertaining manner.
This is the first production at Berliner Ensemble by Austrian director Christina Tscharyiski. Her production “Ja, eh! Beisl, Bier und Bachmannpreis” was invited to the 2017 Heidelberger Stückemarkt and Dramatikerfestival and won the audience award at the 2017 Radikal Jung Festival.
The play Mar-a-Lago was commissioned by Berliner Ensemble.
